Position Description
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Surveillance Team Lead to join our expanding Surveillance team in Tallinn, Estonia. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a high-performing Surveillance team while applying your knowledge and experience to help millions more potential customers save money by using Wise!In accordance with regulatory requirements, the Surveillance Team is responsible for conducting targeted investigations and analyses of high risk individuals and businesses. The team’s goal is to identify and remove customers who exceed the established risk tolerance. Based on a thorough investigation of a customer’s risk factors, the Surveillance Team determines risk tolerance and provides supporting documentation of findings.
The Surveillance Team Lead is a people leader with a mindset that allows them to build processes that prioritize our customers while being aware of the risks associated with the industry, specific products, and regulations and partners’ requirements.
Your mission is to:
People in charge
Hire, lead, develop, and manage a Surveillance team, which includes administrative tasks such as scheduling, interviewing, and hiring.
Maintain high team morale by organizing team activities.
Measure team performance, KPIs, plan capacity, and keep the customer experience and regulatory/audit requirements in mind.
Encourage your team’s analysts’ learning, development, and career progression by holding regular talent mapping review sessions.
What are the requirements? A little about yourself:
You have excellent verbal and written English skills, and any other languages are an asset.
You can multitask and take on responsibility in stressful situations.
You are well-versed in the regulatory framework as well as KYC/AML procedures pertaining to financial products and services.
You operate and lead in accordance with the company’s values.
You have excellent communication and presentation skills, which will help you support internal and external projects and audits.
You have strong analytical skills and the ability to move the metrics/KPIs of the team;
You have a proven track record of taking individual responsibility and ownership, project management, and being a great team player.
You have previous work experience in the financial sector or similar (that has given you an understanding of the relevant regulatory landscape).
You are familiar with money laundering methods and other financial crime trends.
You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher
You have the legal right to work in Estonia (we don’t offer visa sponsorship for this role)
